Fanciful Earrings

Some lovelies I made...

First we have, the pearl drop earrings.  Those were soooo easy to make. I just strung the beads on some headpins and put them on the earwire.

Next, are the wire swirl earrings. I made a swirl using silver plated wire and then added a glass pearl and a shimmery glass bead.

Last of course, are the dangling crystals earrings. I made these the same way I made these. (Clicky for the tutorial!)










I was wondering...I'm considering making an etsy or artfire store. Which do you prefer? Etsy is really popular but it takes all these percentages and is complicated (at least to me). Artfire has a fixed rate which I like,  but the price seems a little steep.

DIY Dangling Pearl Earrings {Tutorial}

Note: I apologize for the quality of the photos used in this post. My computer which has my editing software on it is still broken and the light was REALLY bad where these photos were taken. Thank you for understanding. :)

Would you like to make this lovely pair of earrings? If your answer is yes, read on.


                                                                   

You need:

*Two fishhook earwires               

*Chain, at least two inches        

 *Four pearls, two large two small

*Four headpins

*Two small beads (optional)

Step One:

 Cut chain into two pieces, about 1 inch long. 

Step Two:

 

Thread 1 large pearl onto a headpin.

:)     

 Step Three:

 Make a loop with the headpin and cut of excess wire. Thread unto the bottom of the chain. Repeat with small pearl.

Step Four:

 Take the ball and coil off the earwire, then using jewelry pliers slightly open the loop on the earwire.

Step Five:

 

 Slide chain on to earwire, close the loop, then slide the ball and coil back on the earwire. You can optionally slide a small bead on to the earwire instead of the metal ball.

Repeat for other earring.

Swirls in Blue

I made these earrings several months ago. I was randomly inserted jump rings. ^_^ Some of the jump rings need to be closed tighter. Oh and I have some BIG NEWS for you guys soon. :D Soon, not now, my dear stalkers (Ack, I mean followers!).

Dangling Crystal and Heart Earrings

I actually made these quite a while ago. :) To make, I used four purple crystal beads and one glass pearl heart. I simply slid them onto the headpin and bent the top into a hook and put it on the earwire. Easy.

Guess what?!?! On Tuesday, myself, my sister, and several other LOTR obsessed friends went to see The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition in the theater! It was showing one night only. We're going to see The Two Towers next week and the week after that, Return of the King. All us (except my sister) dressed up (We were all Arwen!) and sat in the front row! It was so amazing to see LOTR in the theater. EPIC. It
did remind me why they were rated PG-13, though. :) For TTT and RotK I'm dressing up as Eowyn. I'll post details of my costumes later.

From This to That: Chainmaille Earrings

Readers, meet my first pair of chainmaille earrings (above)!

Now, meet a more recent pair of chainmaille earrings!

I love these earrings. Even me, the hot pink hater, loves these earrings! Well, sadly (and happily!) I sold these to a friend for three dollars.

I think I've improved quite a bit since December. And I just have to say this:

I. Love. Chainmaille.
All you really need for chainmaille are jump rings and pliers. Well, if you're making earrings you need the hooks, and if you're making a bracelet/necklace you need the clasps. But hey, you get the point. Chainmaille is especially fun when you can randomly insert jump rings. (Like I did with the above earrings)

Okay, now I need to order more jump rings... :)

Classic Simplicity

It was a rainy Monday afternoon... School was finished, chores were done, I had already checked my e-mail a gazillion times... So what do I do? I create. In this case, earrings. My Classic Simplicity earrings, to be exact. I made three pairs, yellow, green, and orange. The reason I named this design, "Classic Simplicity" is because this design is just so classic. It's a very popular design in chainmaille jewlery. For the "Simplicity" part is because they are so simple, yet beautiful. I love these earrings for their classic simplicity. Hence the name!

P.S. If there's enough interest, I want to have another photo contest. Anybody interested? I was thinking of the theme being shoes. 

Falling, Dropping, and Cascading Crystals

A couple weeks ago I went to Michael's. Now, I normally go to Hobby Lobby so I'm not too familiar with Michael's, so gleefully I look for some beads for a bracelet. I didn't find them. But I saw a package of crystals of all shapes and sizes and I bought them. Then I made a gazillion pieces of jewelry with them.

Made with wire, two crystals, and two pearl hearts. :)

Made with 20 GA wire, glass beads and earring hooks! I loooooove these beads! I bought a pack of "Flower and Heart mix" beads at Hobby Lobby. Love 'em!

Red Chainmaille Earrings

Yup... I've been making lots of earrings lately! :) These are earrings are the same pattern I used for this bracelet. :) These would be great for Valentine's Day also!

Purple and Pink Valentine's Day Themed Earrings
