Craft Bucket List and a Bit o' Random
Hello, lovely people.
I felt like saying that because when I went to the Dark Knight Rises midnight premiere, one of the people at the movie theater asked if any of us "lovely people" wanted pizza. I decided I liked that phrase. So you might be called that a lot by me. Hope you don't mind. ;)
Anyhow, since I start school in a month (First year of highschool! I'm slightly nervous, slightly excited, slightly scared to death, slightly giddy....lots o' slightly!) I decided I should do more crafting before the everlasting doom of schoolwork dawns on me. So I made a bucket list of specific crafts/jewelry I wanted to make. Because everyone has secretly always wanted to make a bucket list. Oh wait that's just me. Haha. I think I am hilarious. You know why? Cause I am. ;)
Anyhow, here is the bucket list! (Why are they called that, anyone know?)
1. Scrapbook Paper Bookmarks (maybe not these specific ones)
2. Scrapbook Paper Art
4. Decoupage with Lace
5. Braided Fabric Headbands
6. DIY Ruffle Headband
7. Lace Patterned Notebooks
8. DIY Dry Erase Board
9. Swirly Ear Cuff
10.Wrapped Leather Bracelet

P.S. Aren't you proud of me? I think I've finally gotten into the groove of posting regularly. :D

DIY Desk Organizer
The desk drawer where keep most of my jewelry/craft supplies looked like a dragon had gotten in there and chewed on everything while managing to mix everything around. I needed a desk organizer, and while on Pinterest I found some pictures of a DIY desk organizer. So I spent a couple hours experimenting, and this is what I came up with! So, without further ado, I present to you a tutorial for a DIY desk orgainzer!
Step One:
I would love to know if you have tried this tutorial! :) Let me know if you have any questions. :) I like smiley faces. :) hehe.
***
Supplies:
Scissors or a craft knife
Scrapbook paper
Stapler
Mod Podge
Step One:
First you need to measure the depth of your desk drawers. My drawers were about 4 inches deep, so I made sure that the boxes would fit.
Step Two:
Take your box and cut the front off. If your box is deeper then your desk then simply cut into the sides, as to make the box shallower.
Step Three:
Now you should be left with a box looking something like this. Now, take your stapler and staple the flap up (Hot glue would work too, I just didn't want to get my glue gun out).
Stapled box |
Step Four:
Since no one likes the look of cardboard boxes, I got out some pretty scrapbook paper and decoupaged it on. For those unfamiliar with decoupage, you simply put a layer ofmod podge (or other decoupage glue) where you want the paper to go, stick the paper on, then put another layer of glue over the paper. Pretty simple!

This tutorial is super easy! Try it. :D I plan on making more soon.

Recent Jewelry Makings
Sidenote: I have made much more jewelry than this recently, but this is what I had around me and it is what I could find. :)
Since it is now Summer, I have been making a lot o' jewlery of late. This is just a fraction of what I have been making! :)
I've been doing a lot of wire hammering. It's really easy and makes the wire look really nice and flat. As you can tell, hearts are one of my favorite things to make. :)
A single-strand gold braided wire circlet (that's a mouthful!), I plan on decorating it with royal blue beads and gold flowers (if I can find them, that is) to make it look like Eowyn's circlet from The Two Towers.
That's all for today, folks! More posts coming soon! :)

Mary Grace

I made this bracelet yesterday. I am shamelessly proud of it. I found the silver beads with the blue crystal at JoAnn's for a little over a dollar! They are Swarovski, which are usually close to $10! I also used some tiny crystals and some seed beads I got a long time ago. It was actually pretty easy to make. :)

Blissfully Rainy Day
This morning it rained, so as soon as it cleared I grabbed my camera and headed into the backyard.
I drew an owl on my hand. I like owls. The end. |
